TX Factor

Episode 21

In this early summer episode we look at programming your DMR handie and running a SharkRF openSPOT digital radio IP gateway. We review the new Icom IC-7610 transceiver, and Mike visits Bob’s shack in Cornwall to learn more about operating through linear satellites.

In our free-to-enter draw, there was a chance to win two great amateur radio-related items: a Prism protective dust cover for your rig and a copy of Andrew Barron ZL3DW’s book Amsats and Hamsats? Draw is now closed.

DMR and Codeplugs

In the feature Bob showed you the settings to put in to each channel of your code plug for the reflectors you want to use via your openSPOT. Note that for the Timeslot setting you can select either 1 or 2 as the OpenSPOT is not fussy on that score and the Colour Code setting is set to the default OpenSPOT setting of 1.
